Good quote. People with blind faith should pay attention here...

"If you would be a real seeker after truth, it is necessary that at least once in your life you doubt, as far as possible, all things."
- Rene Descartes

Surprised they also use 'loonies'?

FTA: "Walsh is not doing well today, nine years after she was fired. She worked at various jobs after her dismissal, but is now on disability and has a brain tumour. It's not malignant, but it still must be removed, Guiste said. "She's just been in very poor health — for a toonie," he said."

"She's just been in very poor health — for a toonie,"
NOTE TO GUSTE:
Being fired DID NOT cause her brain tumor. PERIOD.
Cancer is caused by the right combination of random gene mutations.
Being Fired from a crappy job will not cause gene mutations.

Additionally, apparently that Tim Horton's supplies police with free coffee.
Now that may not be against the law, but it DEFINITELY creates a conflict of interest.
Especially since the arresting officer admitted to accepting free coffee.
Now who's to say that his acceptance of this gift didn't effect his judgment or his perception of the case at hand when arresting the lady?

Come on, common sense people.
Use it!

FYI, in Latin "Volvo" means "I roll".

I call bullshit on this "promise"...

Volvo Promises An Injury-Proof Car by 2020

Since normally you'd want to avoid rolling your car or truck, I tend to avoid a vehicle brands that advertise that in their NAME of all things.

But that aside, lets see what's wrong with this promise by Volvo...
  • "Injury-Proof" - It takes VERY LITTLE to constitute an injury, and humans are squishy and easy to damage. During collisions, things break and glass often flies about the cabin. Expose any of that to the soft sensitive areas on a person and you've got an injury. (Safety glass + eye = eye injury.)
So unless this car will not be transporting humans AT ALL, it'll NEVER be injury PROOF.
  • "[Volvo] car by 2020" - Giving the benefit of the doubt on the "injury-proof" part, is anyone even going to even be driving cars come 2020? Let alone Volvo cars?
With gas prices going through the roof, and Volvo not being known for their fuel-efficiency/hybrid/alternate-fuel vehicles, I'd be SURPRISED (at least with the market outlook NOW) if Volvo vehicles don't go the way of the Edsel or Dalorean by 2020.
